As you know, we along with a large number of Porsche enthusiasts were lukewarm on the 996 body design (C4S and Turbo excluded).
We did not like the elimination of the aggressive, muscular look/stance of the 993 model and a rather cheap looking interior with inferior ergonomics.
At the prices these cars go for and what's now available now from the competition, well...it just wasn't making it in our opinion.
And sales were showing it.
Guess what happened?
Porsche actually listened to us and many others around the world with the release of the 997 and 997S!
And the Spies WHOLEHEARTEDLY ENDORSE what we've seen so far!
It's a much better looking vehicle with an interior that is ten steps above the 996!
And how about that cool Sport Chrono in the dash (More details in article AUTO SPIES WORLD EXCLUSIVE: The coolest new option on the 997!).
The exterior is pure modern classic track car with the mystical Porsche elegance thrown in for good measure.
We are extremely excited and can't wait to drive it and give you a more detailed review.
001 says I'll take an S in Speed Yellow, this November when it reaches US dealerships.
Or maybe we'll wait for the 997 4S and Turbo in 2006!
