SIRIUS INTRODUCES NEXT GENERATION SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER

“We are thrilled to be introducing the first satellite radio receiver featuring our newest technology on the Home Shopping Network,” said Bob Law, Senior Vice President, Retail Operations for SIRIUS. “The XACT “Stream Jockey” by XACT Communication is a very exciting product designed for maximum appeal, and includes features that make it extremely versatile. We believe that it will be very popular with consumers.”

One of the other unique features of the XACT “Stream Jockey,” is that it can be used as a stand-alone receiver, connected to speakers or headphones. Or, it can be wirelessly connected to a vehicle’s in-dash radio, or home stereo system, like other Plug & Play satellite radios.

“All you need is to get the satellite signal, and you’re ready to go,” said Ben Lowinger, Senior Vice President of XACT Communication. “This product gives the listener the ultimate flexibility. You can use it in a vehicle, boat, home, or office. When you match the XACT “Stream Jockey” with the premium programming SIRIUS provides, you have an unbeatable combination, and we are very excited about offering this product.”

The Home Shopping Network will feature the first units available on the market. General distribution and availability through mobile electronics retail stores will be in September, with various boom boxes and other exciting options available in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) will be $99.99 for the unit itself, and $59.99 for the universal docking station that can be used in the car or the home. Separate docking stations for car and home will be sold for $49.99 each. Prices for the boom boxes will be announced at a later date. The Home Shopping Network will feature the unit on August 14th at a special price of $149.00, including a universal docking station.

SIRIUS’ exclusive automotive partners DaimlerChrysler, Ford and BMW represent over 40% of new cars and light trucks sold annually in the United States. Automotive brands currently offering SIRIUS radios in select new car models include BMW, MINI, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeepâ, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Audi, Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. Automotive brands that have announced plans to offer SIRIUS radios in select models include Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover and Aston Martin. In 2004, SIRIUS radios are expected to be available in over 80 different car models, with more than 50 of them factory programs. Also, Hertz currently offers SIRIUS in 29 vehicle models at 53 major locations around the country. In addition, the Penske companies – Penske Auto Group, United Auto Group and Penske Trucking – are offering SIRIUS radios as a factory installed option, where available, in their cars and trucks through their dealerships.
