Has this happened to you?
You see your friends Tahoe, Expedition, Sequoia or Armada and say to yourself that you could really use the room and that third row seat but you don’t want to be politically incorrect or want those HUGE gas bills.
If that’s you, then the 2005 Pathfinder just might be your next truck.
It’s got all the flexibility in a more efficient package with virtually none of the trade offs.
AND, it looks as cool as the full size Armada.

Seattle, Washington- August 18th, 2004.
The Spies were in Seattle a couple of weeks ago previewing the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder.
Before we started indulging in *Mojito's at the 'W' hotel, we got a chance to drive this excellent update to one of Nissan's 'bread and butter' vehicles.
**Four of our Seattle Auto Spies agents below...talk about sleepless in Seattle!

We cruised over to Bainbridge Island from downtown Seattle, on one of the many HUGE ferries which transport thousands of people everyday, to and from the city.
Nissan had the trucks loaded onto the ferry on the lower level, so all we had to do, was go to the lower level of the boat and hop into one of many Pathfinders.
We spent most of the day driving around the island and then finished with a crack course in off-road driving.
We got a chance to see first hand, how cool the new feature (coming to an SUV near you) 'Hill descent control' really is.
As I crested an extremely steep hill on the off road course, the Nissan product guy told me to take my foot off the accelerator and the brake.
I’m thinking…Yea; right…I think I want to die!
But I listened to him because he was the only one that knew the way out and to my surprise, the technological wizardry took over and the trucked just crawled down the hill.
Automatically! I didn’t have to do ANYTING except sit back and relax.
I never felt safer!
Overall impression: 2005 Pathfinder
I like the new exterior…it really looks mean like the Armada and the clean interior interface is one of the best out there.
It rode great on the highway, around town, in the bush and it had one of the first BOSE stereos I’ve ever listened to, that actually sounded GOOD!
We’ll tell you more when we get a chance to drive one for a longer term but on first glance, Nissan nailed it with the new Pathfinder.
*Mojito (say 'mohito,' and enjoy! Not while driving though!)
1.5 oz Rum
12 fresh spearmint leaves
1/2 lime
7 oz club soda
2 tbsp. simple syrup
(or 4 tsp. sugar)
For the smoothest majitos, gently crush mint leaves and lightly squeeze lime in a cool tall glass. Pour sweet syrup on top to cover and fill glass with ice. Add Rum, club soda, and stir your emerging mojito well. Garnish with a lime wedge, a few sprigs of mint, toast, sip, and enjoy mojitos with your friends.
