Auto Spies World Exclusive: Customers to get second phone and free DVD Navigation systems on 7-series

So you're thinking to yourself, should I wait until the DVD navigation system is available before I buy a 2003 7-series?

The answer is no.

The Spies have found out BMW will be making a special announcement soon telling US customers that any 7-series owner who bought their car between October 15th and when the DVD based systems arrive, will be able to (on a per customer request basis) get a FREE DVD nav system installed, in place of the current system (cd based).

So you can buy your car and when the DVD is available contact your dealer and request the new system be installed at absolutely NO CHARGE!

We think this is a classy move by BMW.

Also, besides steptronic upshift controls, the post 1/15 production 7-series cars will include a second built in phone (so the emergency system still works even if you portable phone is not in the car).

Finally, starting with 1/15 productions, the timeport phone will no longer be in the car. I will be the latest Motorola V-series unit.
