I've seen the new XF a number of times at the auto shows and now cruising the streets of SoCal and the one thing that keeps going round and round in my mind is that it really ISN'T a Jaguar anymore.
My best description is that it looks like a Lexus GS re-designed by the English with a Lincoln/Mercury interior (all the silver buttons/switchgear that make it look like a cheap Technics stereo component).
It DRIVES better than virtually every Jag EVER made but to us it's lost its soul.
But the REAL question is, does it matter?
The REAL Jag's were doing and have done NOTHING in the marketplace for years and the new one is selling well.
So common sense would say revolutionary change is in order and maybe an English Lexus isn't such a bad idea after all?
But sometimes common sense can come back to bite you in the you know where.
Has Jaguar made the right move or have they veered to far off the design course that it will effect its heritage forever?
