Lotus state-of-the-art VVA (Versatile Vehicle Architecture) is starting to pay dividends and Elvis (no it will not be Elvis but it will start with an "E") is starting to take shape.

Designed to be very light, with the latest in suspension design, coupled to a Toyota sourced V8 pumping out 400-odd horses, the car will be a real revelation, as much as the Elise was, so I am told.

The old problems of claustrophobic cabin, lack of space, small fuel tank and iffy electrics have all been addressed and your money will buy a car capable of holding a GT3 on road, track or just good looks.

Norfolk’s finest have set their sights on a genuine 200-mph supercar for modest money.

Good to see them sticking to their principles then?

Expect this one to be ahead of the game by appearing in late 2007.
