GM Bets the Farm on New Pickups, SUVs

General Motors is betting its future on its new full-size GMT900 pickups and sport-utility vehicles, which start hitting the market in early 2006.
A GM source told Inside Line the designs are evolutionary, not radically different from today's trucks. Exterior sheet metal is new, and more differentiation among the Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC versions exists.
Interiors are dramatically upgraded, supplier sources told Inside Line, and offer a wider variety of equipment upgrades and features.
