Saab has announced the recall of some 300,000 Saab 9-3s and 9-5 models (2000 through 2002) because of overheating problems in the ignition system.
Electric overload causes the ignition box to fail thereby stopping the engine from starting. There have been four reports of incidents where engines have stopped while driving.
Despite the four reports of engine stoppages, there have been no injuries to date.
The company will model owners directly and begin replacing ignition boxes within the next year.
