Many other tuning companies in Japan were content on producing simple ready-made solutions, however, in contrast the work of HKS is supported by an excess of 35 years of experience and know-how in the area of drag racing, rallying, road racing and top speed tests. Consequently, HKS became famous for its performance and aftermarket packages.

The latest project of the tuner involves the GT570 racing kit for the Nissan GT-R which is a race-only conversion that costs $5,700 and consists of 75mm racing extension pipes, the latest intercooling piping system, an ECU that has been reprogrammed, a sequential blow-off valve kit, actuators that have been reinforced and fresh spark plugs. Now, HKS has come up with the GT600, which is an updated package in either Racing or Sport lines, is based on the previous GT570 package with a few additions that consist of a new induction kit that comes with large diameter intakes, a fuel regulator and pump. The exhaust system is the only element that distinguishes the Racing from the Sport lines, which has been made a little milder in the Sport trim to meet Japanese emissions and noise standards.
