A number of automotive weblogs today reported that Volkswagen was planning a crossover vehicle to be slotted somewhere between the Passat and the Phaeton sedans. The vehicle, dubbed the “Sfero,” was said to be slated for 2007 or 2008. Unfortunately, this story — which was reprinted on a popular car discussion forum in September — was first published by TCC in 2003. A lot changes in two years, and this story is no longer believed to be accurate.
