After we revealed you the fact that Audi is going to show us the new 2010 RS3 at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, we decided to contact our source from Mercedes-Benz to see what is their next project and it appears that it is our lucky day because our friend told us that the German manufacturer is currently working on the S250 CDI BlueEfficiency!

Yes, it is true: Mercedes-Benz is going to present a new S-Class version which will carry the same 4-cylinder diesel engine found on the current C- and E-Class and capable to deliver 224 hp… Now don’t be sad, because this new engine has almost the same strength as the current 350 CDI V6 engine with 2987cc that delivers 235 hp and 540 Nm of torque. With this new engine, the S-Class will show a fuel consumption of just 5.9 liters/100 km (39.87mpg) while CO2 emission will reach approximately 155 grams.
