How is the Cayenne selling?

Some of our readers respond:

Dear 001,

I went to my local NJ dealer with intentions to trade in my 4.6is X5 for a
TT.  Test drove the TT and I dont care what reviewers say, but the TT drives
more like a truck than the X5.

Anyway, the dealer received 3 TT's as its first allocation, and after 2
weeks, they have sold 2 of the 3!  For a car that has just been
released...this SUCKS.  They should have not only flown out the door, they
should have gotten over MSRP.  When the X5 was first released a few people
made some chunk of change on them.

As for the "S", every single dealer in NJ/NY is discounting them 2-4K!
Again, for a car that was released on MArch 15th, Porsche should be VERY
worried.

Porsche should be thinking about building the BEST possible car out there
for drivers to track and autocross and drive on weekends.  A Boxster RS
maybe, with 300ish HP and less weight than the current model.  With a
street, track and maybe even "non-street legal" version.  They are too
worried about 911 sales suffering if they build an awesome Boxster....SO
WHAT!! Maybe they could sell tons of those and thats how they could survive
and prosper!

49% residual for a TT??!!  Thats ludicrous.  NO THANKS, I'll keep my X5 4.6
and trade in my Boxster S for a Lotus Elise next year!

Dear 001,

I had to choose from between a 03 BMW CAB SMGII, and a Cayenne S. I was just
sitting in a Cayenne and a salesmen walked up and said if you want one we
can give you 4K off. I bought the SMG, got a better deal plus I like it
better, and my wife already drives an LX-470 .But I will say the Cayenne it
fits well, looks great, and the Turbo is a fantastic ride.I was told PORSCHE
plans (needs) to sell 3 Cayenne's for every  911 or Boxter sold. They better
hurry the FX45 is also a cool ride.

Dear 001,

i'm picking up a 2003 turbo msrp $96k+ for $89k at a dealer in Ma tomorrow. So Turbos are hard to get but you can get the few '03s left at a good discount.
