The all-new 2007 Suburban is Chevy’s flagship SUV and is built on GM’s brand-new full-size SUV architecture, which combines Active Fuel Management™ displacement on demand technology and aerodynamic enhancements to provide best-in-class fuel economy. The 2007 Suburban, which will go on sale in the second quarter of 2006, is capable of hauling more passengers and cargo than any other vehicle in the segment. Suburban also features a 360-degree safety system of occupant protection and crash-avoidance technology.Suburban is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, with 2WD and 4WD. A Z71 off-road package will be offered later in the model year. At start of production, Suburban will be equipped with an efficient 5.3L V-8 with fuel-saving Active Fuel Management™ technology. Later, a new 6.0L V-8 with variable valve timing will be available. A benefit of the GM 5.3L V-8 is that it is capable of running on any combination of conventional gasoline and ethanol (E85) as a standard feature; in fact, GM is a leader in the development and sale of E85-capable vehicles. Ethanol is a renewable fuel produced commercially from agricultural crops or forest residues and is an environmentally viable alternative to pure petroleum.
