****GALLERY NOW UPDATED WITH PHOTOS OF DAY 3 OF THE DETROIT AUTO SHOW GALLERY***ALMOST 2000 PHOTOS IN OUR DETROIT AUTO SHOW GALLERY!!!!! Click here to view the 2006 Detroit show photo galleryWe all know the American car companies are desperately in need of high volume hits like the Ford Mustang and Chrysler 300c.So in desperate times you need to make desperate moves and that's just what it felt like today at the opening day of the 2006 Detroit auto show.Chrysler picked desperate housewife Eva Longoria to help launch one of our favorite cars from day one, the Chrysler Imperial concept.Talk about in your face!Another bold move for Chrysler and we applaud them for it.Hey, if Cadillac is not going to build Cadillac's anymore that really make a statement, then they're leaving the door wide open for companies like Chrysler to come in and steal away more customers. And we think if they build the Imperial, they WILL steal A LOT of Cadillac and Lincoln customers. On the high end, the show stealer on day one was the new Lexus LS460 and LS460L (Official sponsors of the AutoSpies.com 2006 Detroit auto show photo gallery). How about a full rear seat recliner like in the long wheelbase Maybach in a car that's over 250k less!Plus, one touch parking assistance and a stereo with a media server that will hold over 4000 songs! If this is a sample of what's to come, we can't wait until tomorrow to see more of what's in store for day two.The gallery has over 850 photos from today alone!!!We will be adding auto show gallery photos from the show floor, as they are taken, all day tomorrow...keep checking back regularly.
