Talks between the UAW and Fiat S.p.A. are ongoing with regards to a proposal to reverse plans to close Chrysler plants scrapped during its bankruptcy. UAW Vice President General Holiefield said that no decisions have been made and that discussions are being held “all the time” to attempt to find a way out of those plans. Under a restructuring plan directed by the Obama administration, Chrysler had initial plans to shut down seven US plants.

So far, two plants have been shuttered and there seems to be little chance of saving a third plant — Chrysler’s stamping facility in Twinsburg, Ohio. On the other hand, the Detroit’s Connor Assembly plant is now listed as part of the new Chrysler and has been taken off the closure list.
