AutoExpress reports:
AMG’s recent power surge is about to continue in smaller cars, with an all-new forced-induction V6 saloon based around the upcoming B-Class Mercedes architecture. It will be the second model after the SLS to be built from scratch by AMG.
Designed to take on Audi’s imminent RS3 and BMW’s M1, the saloon was previewed by the F800 Concept at the Geneva Motor Show, and the production car, code-named C117 EVO, will give AMG a £30,000 entry-level price point to make it more accessible than the current £50,000 C63 AMG.
Already being dubbed a CLS-lite, the new car will measure in at around 4500mm long –400mm shorter than its bigger brother – but it will share its philosophy of frameless doors and four-door coupe styling when it arrives in 2013...
