Not long ago, the BMW 7-series was the center of attention in the automotive world. Sure, the Z4 roadster was the first with Chris Bangle's fiery styling cues, but that was on a small sports car, not the company flagship. Along with iDrive and the many jokes (can they please be over already?) brought on by that little dial, the car's styling made for plenty of water-cooler conversation.
But times have changed, and Mercedes-Benz has improved upon the winning BMW formula.
AUTO SPIES PERSPECTIVE: Our take on this writer's opinion can be summed up like this...Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Although the new S550 is by far the best looking of the three, the 750 is still the best driver.
And in Southern California where all the trends are set, the amount of 750's I see driving in the influencial zip codes far out number the new S-Class.
I said 750's, not 7's just to clarify.
So don't start posting lame blogs saying that of course there would be more 7's because they've been out longer.
