According to sources on the internet, which have debatable credit, it sounds like Maserati may be considering building a smaller sedan in order to compete with the likes of the Jaguar XFR, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Not only is that some pretty stiff competition, we can't exactly figure out why the company would see this as a worthwhile venture.

Is THIS the car Maserati should be making or would it be better off making something else?


Maserati will launch a new sub-Quattroporte four-door saloon in autumn next year, pitched as a competitor to the BMW M5, the Mercedes E63 AMG and the Jaguar XFR.

The long-rumoured sports saloon will be the fourth model in the Maserati range, joining the Granturismo sports car, the Grancabrio open-top GT and the Quattroporte large sports saloon...
