Given that stiffer regulations regarding stricter fuel efficiency standards, we should have seen this one coming a mile away. I guess we were in denial about AMG and the employment of hybrid technology; however, there is a silver lining.
Although Porsche has taken the usage of hybrid technology to another level with the implementation of its flywheel energy recovery system, AMG insists that instead of using tech to boost power, it would rather improve fuel consumption. Although when you have a forced-induction 5.5-liter V8, that could get a little tricky.
Who knows? Maybe we'll all wind up liking the hybrid tech cars better than the traditional ones.
