One car that we've been interested in getting some more information on was the 2012 Hyundai Veloster. That's because there have been rumors circulating about a more powerful version. Well, according to Hyundai-Blog, there's good reason for that.
Word on the street is suggesting that a 1.6-liter turbocharged motor producing 208 horsepower will be getting placed into the Veloster. With that said, it sounds like Volkswagen's infamous GTI and the Honda Civic Si better be bringing their "A" game.
However, we're just a little curious:
With a car like the Veloster, would you rather have the power OR would you rather have the mpg?
There's no way you can give a vehicle a 70 horsepower bump without taking a decent chunk out of its fuel economy.
...our best bet was that the 1.6-liter direct-injection turbo motor developed for the Curb Concept would find its way in.
And now Hyundai-blog (a no affiliation fan site) is reporting that that is in fact what's happening. The direct-injection T-GDI engine will be available in 2012 making 208 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The engine will also find its way into the 2013 Hyundai ix30 and Kia Cee'd...
