Auto Spies Exclusive: Next generation Volvo C70 convertible
Details
One of the most beautiful body designs on a car to us, has been the current generation C70 convertible (Yes, it has a REAL back seat) and coupe by Volvo.
Unfortunately, the cars should be renamed the Volvo Rattlesnakes, because of the amount of rattling noises you hear, when driving them.
This is due to the fact, that the bodies have a huge amount of flex in them, as well as poor build quality, on the ones we've driven.
When you drive them, you feel a sloppiness, not found on many high end vehicles today.
Well that is about to change.
From what we're told, the next generation vehicle (2005) will be much stiffer and the convertible will break ground, with the first retractable convertible hardtop, on a TRUE four-seater convertible (Cool!!!!!).
Obviously, when that car appears, there will be no more need for a regular coupe.
They should make their debut at the L.A. auto show in January.
