Let's see, if you're an uber car fan, particularly of the vintage persuasion, there's one auto event that probably speaks to you: Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Without question, it is one of the most beautiful backdrops for an automotive party except there may be one problem: it appears to be a rather large snobfest.
Aside from that the BMW Group sponsored event always attracts some of the most intriguing, historic vehicles from around the world. In addition, it has become a place for high-end manufacturers to showcase a special car.
This year, it seems that Ferrari will be bringing a one-off, coachbuilt convertible fitted with a six liter, six cylder motor. It's name? The Ferrari Super America 45.
BMW has not released any other details besides the one-off was commissioned for a New Yorker. Given that much information we can only think of two people with deep enough pockets: Jim Glickenhaus -- who has been gearing up for his P4/5 race car making its racing debut --, or Peter Kalikow -- who is known for his Pozzi Blue obsession and the 612K one-off.
With that said, let the speculation begin!
A one-off Ferrari convertible equipped with a six-cylinder 6.0-litre engine will be revealed at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este later this month.
BMW, which sponsors the annual event in Milan, confirmed the show’s line-up today, and it included a mysterious concept called Ferrari Super America 45.
The only other details given by BMW other than the car’s six-cylinder 6.0-litre included its year of production, 2011, and that the bespoke model was commissioned by a New Yorker...
