Update: How the Cayenne and other Porsche's are selling

Just finished a quick Autotrader new car search - not that the totals are the entire US inventory, but the relative comparisons to 911 and Boxster inventory are interesting:
Cayennes: 412 (you have to search both model years - 03 (59)and 04 (353))
911 -385
Boxsters 479.
I think that 911s and Boxsters have been piling up in inventory for at least the last six months - you've watched the market more then I have and probably have a better feel of how long that has been going on.
Meanwhile, the new to market Cayenne already has similar numbers of vehicles in stocks to the point that dealers have to put them up on autotrader. Porsche may be fooling the analysts at brokerage houses with the statement that Cayenne is selling like hotcakes, but it sure appears to me that they are just sold to the dealers and that the vehicles are piling up on the dealer lots.
