Of all of the places I have traveled to, there is something special about southern California. My favorite spot is, without question, Malibu. To be more specific, the hills above Malibu.

It just so happens that an E90post forum user and his buddy, with an awesome Ferrari 458 Italia, stumbled across what appears to be engineers giving the next-gen BMW 3-Series a workout in the twisties.

This reveals a bunch of new angles and close ups that haven't been seen before. Sure the car's covered in the swirly camouflage but there are a couple of takeaways here. One, what's up with the skinny tires? Two, its proportions seem to paint this car a bit longer that the outgoing model.

Do you notice anything else that we haven't picked up on yet?

My friend and I went for a drive last Friday in his 458 Italia in the hills above Malibu. We came across what appears to be an F30 (335i?) prototype and decided to give chase to snap some photos. The test drivers picked up the pace and we were able to get some shots of the F30 in action in the canyons. Good fun...
