Probably one of the most adored cars is the Volkswagen Golf. It's cheap, fun to drive and has plenty of utility. In fact, yours truly has debated making a move just for giggles. What can I say? I am a sucker for the MKVI's five-cylinder sound.
Given the MKVI's age though, it's on its way out the door. VW thinks it is the right time to move onto bigger and better things. With that said, spy photographers in Europe have spotted an early prototype undergoing testing.
Boasting wider fenders and exhaust tips that appear to stick out quite a bit, it looks like the seven will experience a bit of growth. Although it is too early to speculate on engine options, those quad exhaust tips are sending us some positive vibes.

Spy photographers in Europe have started spotting Golf 7 test mules out and about. While we can tell nothing whatsoever about the exterior design of the new car, we can see some mechanical changes. Volkswagen goes to great lengths to hide their future products and these cars are no exception. If you look closely you can see that the front and rear tracks are both wider. Overall width should be wider on the new car and the fuel filler door extension seen in these photos shows where the sheet metal will have to come out a bit more. Those rear fender flares are also disguising the fact that the wheel base will be slightly longer on the Golf 7...
