User disgruntled over BMW phone situation
You mean, you actually want to USE the integrated phone, in the car?
Dear 001,
Forget about that E-series nav computer problems, what is going on with BMW!? Since February 2003, you can no longer get the mobile phone installed in the 3 or 5 series cars; the new phones are available because they are carried as standard parts for the 7 series, but no kits for the 5 or 3 series have been distributed.
Bottom line, you cannot get a dealer-installed car phone to take advantage of the prewiring, hands free and voice command features of the car. I have a 2003 530i and have been waiting since January for a phone kit, and the dealer still cannot say when they will be made availble.
Please help by getting to the bottom of this! :)
