Although I know I've mentioned this story a couple of times, I can't refrain from telling it again. At the 2011 New York Auto Show, one car caught my attention right off the bat: it was the white Jaguar XKR-S coupe sitting in all of its glory at the Jag booth.
Considering I have never really been a huge fan of this generation XK, it struck me as odd that I found so much to like about this specific XK. Then again, it has over 500 horsepower, sport seats and gunmetal rims.
I guess I am a sucker for that kind of thing.Though I bet some old-timers feel the XKR-S looks a bit juvenile, to me it looks perfect.
So now that we know Jaguar is working on a convertible variant -- we should of saw that one coming --, I guess buyers will be daunted with the age-old question: drop-top or fixed roof?

The storming new Jaguar XKR-S will be available as a convertible, and here are the pictures that prove it. Our team of spies caught this Volvano Red prototype testing at the Nurburgring in Germany, and despite a blacked-out front bumper, there's no question about which model we're looking at.
Ever since the XKR-S Coupe was revealed at the Geneva show back in March, rumours have been circulating about the convertible variant, but it's not until now that we can confirm it's bound for production.
With its downturned front grille, chunkier bodywork and vents on the leading edge of the bonnet, the convertible's front end is identical to the Coupe's. At the rear a fixed wing and four exhausts either side of the diffuser give away its identity...
