The reason I ask is because the next-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class car has been spotted on and off for some time now. The major problem is that it's always seen wearing a chunky amount of camouflage.

Now, it's seen without heavy cladding and its lines are becoming a bit more recognizable. While its not entirely clear how it will look, some design themes are starting to emerge. Take, for example, the SLS-inspired grill -- which we've noted from day one -- that's coming into form now. Also examine the rear trunklid and corresponding taillights that appear to take a free-form look as seen on the all-new CLS. Lastly, the front headlights have a similar shape to the CLS; however, there doesn't appear to be an inner, rectangular LED set of lights.

...The 2013 Mercedes SL will be slighty larger, but also much lighter thanks to its alumunium body. This body reduces the weight by more than 100kg and benefits the fuel consumption and performance.

The roadster will be powered by a new twin-turbo V8 engine. This 4.7 liter engine provides 435 horsepower. In addition there will be a V6 and also an impressive V12. Those who prefer the more powerful editions will be pleased to notice the SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG are in the works as well...
