This week is likely to bring forward some new, interesting takes on where the automotive world is going. Still considered one of the largest automotive shows on the planet, the 2012 Detroit Auto Show is looking to be more positive than previous years.

With economic numbers more positive than initial forecasts -- even if it's only a seasonal bump -- the 2012 NAIAS is likely to be buzzing with more activity and a humming vibe than in recent years. Maybe this year will mark the return of innovative, forward-thinking ideas without a hint of dreariness that's plagued past Detroit shows.
