One of the big debuts on day two of the 2012 Detroit Auto Show was the Honda Accord Coupe Concept. Though many panned it for looking very similar to the current-generation product, one thing that one of our commenters here picked up on struck me.

Lacman noted:

"If Honda applied the coupes styling to the sedan (even as a sport trim level) it would fly off the lots."

Being that the Accord Coupe Concept is a show car, it is only natural that the vehicle is a bit embellished from what would likely be a production model; however, would some of these flashier details inject a bit of much-needed life into the Accord sedan?

You have to admit that this concept has a strong side profile and if similar cues were applied to the sedan, it would give it a more stylized appearance that is capturing buyer's hearts in today's market. Though there are conservative consumers, products that have been lighting up the sales charts are ones that have sportier appearances, are stylized and leave a lasting impression.

If Honda applies the Accord Coupe's elements to its conservative sedan, would that add enough spice to seduce MORE consumers and leave cars like the Hyundai Sonata in the dust?
