Now that the all-new BMW 3-Series is out and about, it's time to focus on its upcoming variants.

As has been a traditional "BMW move," the Bavarians first introduce the sedans, then come the coupes and convertibles, and last but not least, the M. What will be interesting to see is how BMW incorporates the Gran Turismo in the whole mix. And, don't be surprised if a "touring," -- BMWspeak for wagon -- appears in the brand's most popular lineup.

Seen here in Sardinia is BMW's next-gen coupe version.

For the past several years publications have been stammering on about how this particular auto will be renamed the 4-Series as BMW adopts this number change for coupes.

But this has been said for two generations or thereabouts, so, don't hold your breath on that call.

Plus, an M4 would just sound stupid not to mention kill the legacy of that auto.blah
