As you've likely heard the cliche phrase: "They just don't build them like they use to," we'd have to say that certainly applies to automobiles. And they're right.

Automakers certainly don't make cars as bad as they use to be!

What manufacturers did do, however, is build products with an incredible amount of detail and uniqueness into their products. And when you land in Monterey, you know that there's no way that owner "x" is going to want have anything similar to owner "y." It's all about having a bespoke vehicle.

In the older, big-body cars you'll notice a focus of attention on the hood ornaments. My personal favorite would have to be the opaque, glass ornament of woman on her knees bending backwards. You just don't see that anymore!

When you start moving onto the later model year vehicles of the 60s and 70s, that's when the focus shifted to badging and signage. Particularly with the Italian automakers, you'll notice the designers placing their names on vehicles, like Bertone and Pininfarina, or the metal workers even making their presence known.

And there's nothing better than some vintage signage.
