It was only last year that we awarded our special design award to the 2012 Audi A7. There's just something about those unique "checkmark" LEDs and the way Audi made it all come together at the vehicle's hindquarters that other folks couldn't execute.

I am looking at you BMW and Porsche.

But it looks like there is another young stallion in town. That, my friends, would be the all-new Ford Mondeo liftback, which premiered this week in Holland.

And it looks good. Damn good.

This brings up a couple of points, namely:

1) Is this now the poor man's Audi A7 for the European market? Ford was pleased to announce it will have full LED headlights...

2) If Toyota brings that Avalon concept to life, will Ford actually bring the liftback to the States? And, if it does, WHICH would YOU opt for if you had to make the decision and you had to put down the greenbacks?
