As we continue to keep an eye out for the latest spy images of the updated Mercedes-Benz E-Class, these hit the net, thanks to our friends in the UK.
Sporting heavy camouflage in these images, the E-Class sedan and estate clearly are undergoing some pretty extensive changes to its facade. But, we already knew that.
What we didn't know would be that there's a pretty strong possibility that Mercedes will do something relatively unthinkable. It will go without the Pontoon rear fenders going forward.
I find this to be a relatively shocking move considering how much the three-pointed star pumped up the throwback styling detail when they first released this generation E-Class for the 2010 model year.
Time will tell, but from what the spy photographers have captured recently, those rear fenders should be getting the heave ho.
Seen here in both saloon and estate forms, Mercedes is giving the E-Class a major exterior makeover.
Although these pictures show a heavily disguised prototype, we know that changes will include new cleaner, single-section headlights, while the bulge over the rear wheelarch will be removed in favour of a horizontal crease.
There will be a modified grille and front bumper, as well as a set of revised tail-lights and a lightly sculpted bumper.
