Now this is exciting! As Mercedes-Benz continues its product assault in order to keep fighting for points of market share, it's apparent that an all-new model is currently undergoing development.
For the very FIRST time, spy photographers abroad spotted an all-new Mercedes testing. That, my friends, is the upcoming C-Class convertible.
Clearly the vehicle is heavily camouflaged and is sporting a "fake out" hard top look. Much like Auto Express, we're betting this is merely a curveball and the actual product will have a soft top as the rear end looks pretty tidy and cleanly designed.
These are the spy shots that prove Mercedes is working on a convertible version of the next-generation C-Class. Effectively a replacement for the CLK, the drop-top C-Class is expected to go on sale in 2015 - a year after the new saloon is scheduled to arrive in UK showrooms.
Despite heavy camouflage, the cabriolet's sleek profile can clearly be seen, although it's impossible to tell at this stage whether Mercedes is planning to use a fabric roof, or a folding hardtop. Judging by the compact rear end, though, a fabric roof - that's both lighter and cheaper to produce than a metal one - seems most likely...
