As we saw late Sunday night, things are starting to heat up on the German front when it comes to entry-level premium sport-utility vehicles. This is what we know so far.

BMW will be showing off its X4 Concept in Shanghai.

Mercedes-Benz's GLA has been spotted numerous times undergoing testing. No details, information or interior photos have been collected.

Audi's Q3 has been doing well abroad but has now been spotted on U.S. shores. It is said to be launching in the U.S. in 2014. Rumors are swirling that the four rings is planning a Q6 but so far no test vehicles have been spotted.

And then there is Porsche. Much hoopla has already been stirred up regarding its entrant, the Macan. And while we've seen spy photos of the camouflaged baby Cayenne, we have yet to see its interior. Until now.

Snapped recently, these are the FIRST interior shots of the Macan. Right away you will notice that the Macan features the higher center console — a la Panamera — and has a large infotainment screen with controls set up exactly like the Panamera. The more keen folks will spot the new steering wheel and what looks like a manual gearbox.

We're not surprised by this move as this layout has served Porsche well, starting with the Panamera, working its way into the Cayenne, then 911, then Boxster/Cayman.
