It was only yesterday we showed you images sent to us by our friend Fred Khaz. He recently snapped a BMW X5 roaming about in SoCal. There was one slight problem; the vehicle was camouflaged head to toe.
But now some more shots have emerged of the upcoming X5 on the track. And from where I am sitting this appears to merely be a reskinning and revamped interior. Though some sources in the know are claiming that the main goal with this new-gen product is to save weight.
As with most BMWs as of late, weight has become a bit of a problem for their vehicle's driving dynamics and as BMW continues to build some of the most efficient products on the market, it is pressing for a better diet.
Yesterday we highlighted Khaz's image that showed an infotainment screen that keeps in line with other BMWs and that Apple iPad like look. As seen in the cover image, clearly it is large and in charge.

A prototype for the upcoming third-generation BMW X5 has been captured in testing once again, this time with the least amount of camouflage we've seen yet. Previously leaked images also reveal much of the design, though we can’t confirm if they are the real deal just yet.
Code-named F15, the new X5 will bring sleeker looks, lighter weight, more efficient engines, and more high tech to the luxury nameplate.
