Much like BMW tried to say that the living successor of the E30 M3 was the 1M, you'll hear about the all-new Jaguar F-Type being the spiritual successor to the E-Type that once was. Of course they're both significantly heavier but keep in mind that power has gone up as has the amount of technology.
While I have never had the chance to drive a vintage E-Type, and I don't think I could anyway being as tall as I am, I have seen them in action and they're a blast. I was younger walking down the town's main boulevard when a V12 coupe blasted past at wide open throttle. From that point on I knew that the XKE was something special.
Though I can't really speak to it much past that we're pretty sure Jay Leno can take care of that easy peasy. That's because he's got an E-Type and that's also because he just did a review and testimonial on the car. So buckle up and take the ride.
