Over the years I've been able to determine, quite easily, what vehicles I love and which I find less appealing. And if I had to put the world famous marque Rolls-Royce on the 00R-ometer, I would say I've always been less than impressed.

That's because the vehicles tended to be oversized and far too ostentatious for my taste.

But when the Ghost made its debut, something switched inside of me. It was smaller and tidier than the Phantom. And with the Alpine Trials edition showed off in Shanghai, I have to say I am swooning.

However, that doesn't compare to what I think of the all-new Wraith showed off at the 2013 New York Auto Show. I think the sportiest Roller yet is a bit of an oxymoron but this car looks fabulous with its two-tone look and sloping roofline. To me it's the perfect mixture of luxury and sport.

And, it's only going to get better. That's because Rolls has seemingly said it will be produced as a convertible too but just not right away...


Speaking at the UK unveiling of the Wraith, Muller-Otvos told Auto Express: “The design certainly lends itself to a drophead coupe, and I think that will be the next variant”.

Producing another variant could take “some time”, said Muller-Otvos, so don’t expect to see a Wraith convertible arriving in the next couple of years...
