As stated far too many times, Agent 001's and my favorite Porsche 911 is the Targa. Known for having depreciation akin to a cement block in the East River, it isn't exactly the typical 911 buyer's go-to choice. Leave that to the C2.

What made them so gorgeous in the 993, 996 and 997 generation was that large glass panel and unique roofline gave the C-Pillar a special look. It just looked...right.

For the all-new 991 though, times are a changin'. That's because it's pretty clear that Porsche has become bored of the panoramic glass roof and are opting to do it the proper, old-school way. That's right, a removable top.

As I rack my memory I don't believe we've seen it with the top off. That's until today, that is.

What's interesting to see is that the rear roofline is still camouflaged to look like a convertible. Could Porsche be hiding special there or should we expect more of the same 'ol, same 'ol?
