If I were to categorize the sport of downhill skateboarding, I'd say it is extreme. Think about it: you're lacking brakes, you're essentially exposed if you're NOT wearing padding and I'd wager it would be difficult to maneuver away from a pressing obstacle.
Now to bring this into the automotive kingdom, if I were to think of an extreme automobile, it would — arguably — be the Nissan GT-R. Simply put, it's the most violent vehicle I've ever driven. Of course it was a loving kind of violent. The predecessor to the GT-R though was the Skyline, which has long been considered a legend.
This neatly brings us to our subject, Kevin Reimer who is a professional downhill skateboarder and the owner of a 1991 Nissan Skyline. We'll let the video do the rest of the talking.
Kevin Reimer is a professional downhill skateboarder from Vancouver, Canada, traveling all around the world to race down technical roads. When looking for a car to buy, he desired something with similar traction and grip as his skateboards, as well as something that could handle turns at speed. He found his perfect car: A 1991 Nissan Skyline GT-R. When he discovered that he and the car had both raced and won on the same course, he knew there was a special connection. Now Kevin has the ultimate tools: one to race down a canyon and one to drive to the top of one.
