In 2001 Bentley returned to the race tracks with a Le Mans prototype racer. It was a shocking move at the time because it didn't really make sense for Bentley — a luxury automobile manufacturer — who was so far removed from its racing beginnings that it would get back into the game.
But it did after a 68 year gap.
After some trouble in the first two years, finally in 2003 it won. First AND second!
Now imagine the amount of disappointment that would have swelled if, say, Bentley LOST!
That said, one of my favorite presenters, Steven Sutcliffe, had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to get behind the wheel of the Speed 8 and see all that she's got.
