In recent months there's been rumors swirling around that Bugatti has something special up its sleeve. A so-called "super" Veyron is essentially what's been discussed. But would the marque really go down that road?
According to unnamed sources it apparently could be the case.
Word on the street is suggesting a dramatically lighter Veyron with a significant boost in power as Autocar reckons the quad-turbo W16 motor can handle around 1,500 horsepower, possibly more. This all appears to be hearsay and the five million pound pricetag doesn't seem to be substantiated on anything aside from, well, seemingly nothing.
I'd like to call this out as a sham but Autocar has been right in the past. Eventually we'll know once Bugatti makes an announcement or moves onto the long awaiting 16C Galibier.
Reports that a final, ultra-extreme version of the Bugatti Veyron will be launched early next year have gathered pace, with an insider admitting to Autocar that the company is eager to produce a version of the car that is “a fantasy in terms of its performance”.
