Probably the biggest debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show was the 2013 SRT Viper. It's not that it was the most amazing vehicle. It's because it was resurrected from the dead and, I can say this now that I am looking back, the New York show wasn't all that great.

When the vehicle made it's blockbuster appearance, the buzz was that this was an all-new Viper that was refined and given Chrysler Group's best effort. It now had the same seats as a Ferrari and a massive infotainment screen.

Purists cringed.

People wondered "Will the all-new Viper lose all of the elements that made the original SO much fun?"

...Neither Viper lovers nor I wanted a practical or neutered version of Dodge’s legend. And this one isn’t. It looks outrageous, drives better than ever, and is just as raucous as the driver wants it to be.
