As we've been noting for quite some time, people love their sport-utility vehicles. Not just in the U.S., either. It's an international trend.

There's just something about having the elevated seating position and keeping that car-like drive folks like. It makes them feel "protected."

And while we've been noticing luxury marques like BMW and Mercedes-Benz preparing entry-level luxury entrants a la the GLA, we're going to focus on a non-luxury entrant from Mazda.

Dubbed the CX-3, this is expected to bring together the positive elements of the CX-5 and the 3 sedan. Seems like it would be a pretty good option to have alongside the 3 four-door sedan and five-door hatch in the showroom.

That said, if the rumored CX-3 looked as good as the render, would that drive you to the sales floor?
