When I think of troubled automakers as of late a couple names come to mind: Mitsubishi. I am not so sure how Suzuki will survive but at least Mitsubishi has a couple of products it can try to pull out of the steep dive it's worked itself into.

One of them is the Lancer, particularly the Evolution.

And it seems in a last ditch effort, the company **may** try to go head-to-head with the biggest and baddest vehicle of them all — the Nissan GT-R. Call it an act of desperation but I'd say if the automaker could rival the infamous "Godzilla" then at least we know one thing, it'll definitely go out on top.

But at this stage this is all merely hearsay and internet speculation.

Mitsubishi’s long-awaited 21st century replacement for the Lancer Evolution is inching closer to reality.

With the new-generation Lancer hatchback being readied for global launch next year and a plug-in hybrid version of that car already in the product plan, highly placed Mitsubishi executives are discussing options for a petrol-electric performance car.
