Another day, another Porsche 911.
Easily one of the best sports cars money can buy you today, the Porsche 911 is a real treat. But, there's a lot of ways to "tweak" a 911 and Porsche has been taken advantage of it, particularly when it came to the 996 and 997 variants.
Though we've seen the launch of the Carrera 2, C2S, Carrera 4, C4S, and soon-to-hit-dealers Turbo and Turbo S, there's still more on the way. Take, for example, the racing inspired GT3, the cruising Targa and what is being seen here for the very first time — the GTS. At least that's what we think this is.
Spied running around the track, this 911 is more unique than anything else we've seen so far. That's because it is sporting some seriously beefed up fenders, a wider track, venting behind the rear tires and a modified spoiler.

Consider us puzzled. We could be looking at a new 911 model which will be positioned between the Carrera 4S and the Turbo.
The prototype was caught testing on the Nürburgring showing cues from both the 4S and Turbo versions of the latest 911. While there aren't any side air intakes, the rear bumper is wearing some camo on the Turbo-like air intakes...
