Though I've had limited wheel time with the all-new Jaguar F-Type, I have to say I walked away mighty impressed. It did everything I wanted it to and, to be honest, I didn't ever expect it to be nearly as good as it was. It had my hair blown back and me smiling by the time I was at the auto cross' finish line.

It's pretty clear that Jaguar plans on bringing forward a coupe variant as the original concept CX16 was such AND we've seen several instances of the coupe being tested.
Now there's even better news. If 495 horsepower isn't enough for you, it's being reported that the company is also testing an F-Type R variant. Though the only dead giveaway is the new set of wheels and carbon ceramic brakes, Autocar seems to think this is a sure thing and believes that its 550 horsepower motor found in the XKR-S and XFR-S will be put to use.
This test mule, caught at the Nürburgring, is understood to be one of the first F-type R coupé test cars. The F-type R is expected to be the initial flagship model in the new F-type coupé range, which is expected to be revealed before the end of the year.
