The test drivers at the high-end exotic auto builders really have the life. All day they test these highly sought after products to their very limit. I can't imagine that being much fun in a four-cylinder Kia — no offense, guys.
And though it's obvious the job must have its highs, like every form of employment it has it's lows. We can't imagine it getting much lower than this for a factory test driver though.
While doing some hot laps around Ferrari's private test track, this LaFerrari development car didn't fair out so well. Unfortunately it appears the driver lost control at high speed and she wound up in the gravel trap.
The good news is that the trap worked as intended and aside from putting some serious rock chips on the underside of this test car, we assume the driver was not injured. Though it seems most folks freak out at the sight of this, I like to think of it as the cost of doing business when you're trying to build the best of the best and annihilate your competition.
During my visit at Maranello I filmed this loud LaFerrari testing at Fiorano Circuit, but suddenly something went wrong with the braking system and the car went off the track!
Immediatly after the accident they covered it with a red cloth...other than that you can hear some loud noise from the v12 engine!
Enjoy...and thanks for watching ;)
