Set to appear on September 10 at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) is the all-new BMW i8. Though we've seen the concept versions — both coupe and spyder — the finalized production car is set to be unveiled.
This is a big moment for BMW as it is looking to create the best of both worlds. A functional vehicle that obtains great gas mileage while also appealing to BMW fans with a driver-oriented product that pleases the senses.
It's a Herculean effort if the Bavarians succeed.
Agent 001 recently got a look at the vehicle at a VIP preview for the vehicle at Monterey Weekend. He said it is essentially the concept without those crazy glass doors. Expect it to be black and white and feature blue trim.
